M Curtis email 7-25-7
PCM/GRF have released a new statement
yesterday. Go to the following link ...
http://lagunawoodsvillage.com/article.cfm?id=2304
I expect the advance comments will have a priority in being answered during
the meeting. After all, they say: "Comments are welcome via mail
to Golden Rain Foundation – Comments, PO Box 2220, Laguna Woods,
CA 92654 or via email to comments@pcm-inc.org prior to August 1, 2007.
They don't make the same promise regarding oral comments from the residents
at the meeting. I expect poor George to greatly limit floor comments by
all sides.
I recommend you review the new (cough, cough, this is hard to swallow)
Proposed Staff Support Expense Policy , then have a few laughs with the
Breakdown of Expense Press Release . Then, send your concerns and questions
to the email address above. You need to do this before the end of next
week. By the way, since the email comments only go to PCM, I also recommend
you copy or otherwise inform board members of your concerns and questions.
The proposed policy, in my opinion, offers very little control, will significantly
increase our future operating costs and risks through archaic procedures
and cash advances, and the outrageous costs from the past will be allowed
to grow in the future - all because this proposed policy is so open-ended
and misleading. I'll be submitting detailed comments and copy you on them.
The Internet is good source for locating decent policy related to "allowable
expenses non-profits" guidelines and risks to look for. An excellent
site for this is ...
http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/circulars/a122/a122.html
I hope you might take the time to review the links and submit comments.
Otherwise, PCM will have their way, with board members following like
sheep ...

Mike Curtis
